Egbert de Vries

Egbert de Vries has extensive leadership experience in education, housing, and governance. Currently serving as the directeur-bestuurder at Samenwerkingsverband voortgezet onderwijs Amsterdam-Diemen since December 2022, Egbert's role focuses on optimizing educational pathways for students. As voorzitter of VTW from June 2023, Egbert leads meetings and promotes discussions on effective oversight in public housing. Other notable positions include non-executive board member at Woningbouwvereniging Habeko Wonen, penningmeester at Koninklijk Concertgebouworkest Stichting Vastgoed, and voorzitter of Steunstichting Banning vereniging. Previously, Egbert acted as vice-mayor for traffic and transport in Amsterdam, and was algemeen bestuurslid at Waterschap Amstel, Gooi en Vecht. In the past, Egbert held the position of director at Amsterdamse Federatie van Woningcorporaties and was involved with the Wiardi Beckman Stichting and PvdA. Educational credentials include a PhD from the University of Amsterdam, an M Ed in biology teacher training, and an MSc in biology and environmental sciences from the University of Groningen.
