Jeffrey Childers

Software Development Manager at Vulcan Forms

Jeffrey Childers has a solid background in software engineering and development. Jeffrey started their career at General Cad Cam in 1988 where they worked as a Software Engineer, focusing on translating CAD file formats and authoring raster editing applications. Jeffrey then moved on to Elsa, Gmbh in 1992, where they worked on CAD driver software, primarily improving performance and enhancing the user interface for AutoCAD.

In 1995, Jeffrey joined Softdesk, Inc as a Software Developer, where they played a key role in porting the Cad Overlay application from 16 to 32 bit and redesigning and implementing Cad Overlay to integrate seamlessly with AutoCAD.

In 1997, Jeffrey joined Autodesk as a Senior Principal Software Engineer. During their 17-year tenure at Autodesk, they served as an architect, developer, and solo support engineer for large format imaging technology and was a key member of the Raster Design team, responsible for low-level image handling and Raster to Vector technology.

In 2014, Jeffrey joined Brown Brothers Harriman as a Senior Software Engineer, providing support for their internal software written in c/c++. Jeffrey also worked in python for support and debugging purposes. The applications were based in RHE Linux and Solaris.

Most recently, starting in 2019, Jeffrey has been working at VulcanForms Inc as a Software Development Manager. In this role, they lead a team of software engineers, including one automation engineer. Jeffrey reports directly to the Vice President of Engineering and is responsible for architecting, mentoring, and collaborating to scale the code base from scratch to enterprise capable.

Jeffrey Childers obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from an unspecified educational institution between the years 1984 and 1988.
