Syed Zia Uddin, PhD

Syed Zia Uddin, PhD has a diverse and extensive work experience. Syed Zia started working as an Engineering Trainee at Mymensingh Power Station, R.P.C.L. in 2015. After that, they served as a Lecturer at Daffodil International University and as a Research Engineer at the Military Institute of Science and Technology in 2016.

In 2016, Syed joined The University of Texas at El Paso as a Graduate Research Assistant, where they worked until 2018. During this time, they gained valuable experience in research.

From 2019 to 2022, Syed worked at Carnegie Mellon University as a PhD Research Assistant. Here, they conducted research on various projects related to laser powder bed fusion processing and infrared image acquisition for 3D printed metal parts.

In 2017, Syed took on the role of Program Manager (Pro Bono) at Projects for Humanity, where they managed a portfolio of service categories and led a successful fundraising campaign. Under their leadership, the organization experienced significant growth.

Currently, Syed is employed at VulcanForms Inc. as a Process Monitoring Engineer-III. Syed Zia started working there in 2022 and is responsible for monitoring and optimizing the manufacturing processes.
