Cheng Shen-Fang has a solid work experience in the field of application engineering and research.
Cheng started their career at New York University Media Research Lab in 2014, where they held multiple roles including Researcher, Research Assistant, and R&D Lead. In these positions, they were responsible for developing multi-user virtual reality and 3D interaction projects, such as the Halloween Project - Holojam, and integrating augmented reality advancements into lab projects. Cheng also provided technical assistance and troubleshooting for graduate students.
In 2015, Cheng Shen-Fang joined Vuzix Corporation as a Software and Electronic Developer. Cheng played a key role in the development of mixed reality projects, including the integration of depth-sensing cameras and see-through head-mounted displays. Cheng redesigned and built a new user interface for a see-through HMD on the Android platform and published mix-reality conceptual videos. Cheng also designed and prototyped interactive mixed reality demos/videos for major tradeshows.
Cheng Shen-Fang was promoted to Senior Application Engineer in 2019 and later became the Principal Application Engineer in 2022 at Vuzix Corporation. Currently, they continue to contribute their expertise to the company.
Cheng Shen-Fang attended New York University from 2014 to 2016, where they obtained a Master of Science degree in Integrated Digital Media.
