James Scholtz

James Scholtz is an experienced professional in the fields of imaging technology and innovation. Currently serving as an Activate Fellow at Activate since June 2023, James empowers scientists to commercialize their research. James is also an Innovation Fellow at The City University of New York since October 2022. As the Founder and CEO of Vyir Inc. since September 2018, James focuses on developing and commercializing advanced optical infrared imaging technology. Previous roles include Research Associate at Hunter College, Technical Business Development at Inferenx Labs Inc., and various positions within the NSF I-Corps program to facilitate entrepreneurial skills in scientists. James's early career as a Senior Optical Engineer at Chromation and a Technical Consultant at BAE Systems, alongside academic credentials in Physics from Stony Brook University and The City College of New York, underline a solid foundation in engineering and innovation.
