Ashley Pennington, MPH has a diverse work experience in the public health field. Ashley is currently working as a Research Project Analyst at the Defense and Veterans Brain Injury Center. Prior to this, they served as a Community Health Epidemiologist at the Virginia Department of Health. Ashley also worked as a Student Assistant-Center Coordinator at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus.

Ashley's previous roles include being a Graduate Research Assistant at the Colorado School of Public Health, where they conducted literature reviews and data collection for grant-funded projects. Ashley also utilized SPSS and SAS software for data analysis related to health disparities.

Furthermore, Ashley worked as a Case Investigator for the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, where they performed case investigation and contact tracing duties during the COVID-19 pandemic. Ashley also served as an Americorps Summer VISTA COVID-19 Contact Tracer and Case Investigator for AmeriCorps VISTA.

In addition, Ashley has experience as a Public Relations Officer at Global Brigades, Inc., and as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Virginia Tech. In their role at Virginia Tech, they focused on research related to return-to-play in collegiate athletics and platelet-rich plasma injections. Ashley also worked as a Student Athletic Trainer and Fitness Attendant during their time at Virginia Tech.

Ashley Pennington, MPH, obtained their Master of Public Health (MPH) degree in Global Health and Health Disparities from the Colorado School of Public Health from 2020 to 2022. Prior to that, they earned their Bachelor's Degree in Human Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise from Virginia Tech between 2016 and 2020. Additionally, Ashley has obtained several certifications from FEMA, including Basic Incident Command System for Initial Response (IS-00200.c) in September 2021, An Introduction to the National Incident Management System (IS-00700.b) in July 2020, and Introduction to Incident Command System, ICS-100 (IS-00100.c) in June 2019.
