Tasha Gruhot

Senior R&D Scientist at Vytelle

Tasha Gruhot has held a variety of roles in the animal science field since 2012. In that year, they volunteered with Genetics West and Schleining Genetics, where they were certified in bovine artificial insemination and learned to search and grade embryos. Tasha also volunteered with White Shark Africa, where they assisted in data collection for behavioral studies and population dynamic studies on Great White Sharks. In 2013, Gruhot worked at Trans Ova Genetics as a Customer Service Representative, Chute Side Help, and Lab Assistant. Tasha also interned with Smithfield Premium Genetics Group, where they assisted the Research and Development Geneticist on several projects. In 2014, Gruhot became a Research and Teaching Assistant at Iowa State University, where their Masters thesis focused on sow longevity and its economic impact on producers. In 2016, they became a Research Assistant at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where they focused on the genetic components and relationships of boar semen quality and fertility traits. In 2019, Gruhot returned to Trans Ova Genetics as a Geneticist, where they managed both phenotypic and genomic databases and conducted statistical data analysis. Tasha is currently a Senior R&D Scientist at Vytelle, a position they have held since 2022.

Tasha Gruhot obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Animal Breeding and Genetics from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln between 2016 and 2019. Prior to that, they obtained a Master's Degree in Animal Breeding and Genetics from Iowa State University between 2014 and 2016. Between 2009 and 2013, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Animal Sciences and a Bachelor's degree in Equine Science from Colorado State University. Tasha also obtained a Minor in Business from Colorado State University during the same period.
