Gerrit Anderson is a Senior Mapping and Data Visualization Specialist at the W.E. Upjohn Institute for Employment Research since September 2019. Prior experience includes roles as a Geospatial Analyst and Specimen Processing at Forensic Fluids Laboratories from October 2014 to August 2019, as well as a Wesustain Intern at Western Michigan University's Office For Sustainability in late 2016. Gerrit also worked as a Sales Associate at Lowe's Companies, Inc. from April 2014 to March 2015. Currently pursuing a Master of Science in Spatial Data Science at Penn State World Campus, Gerrit holds a Bachelor of Science in Geography and Environmental Studies from Western Michigan University, completed in 2016.

The Upjohn Institute is an independent, nonpartisan nonprofit organization that provides research, practice and policy analysis on employment and unemployment issues. Our research focuses on labor market developments that threaten the livelihood and well-being of workers and the policies and programs designed to reduce those threats and mitigate hardships caused by job loss. We also house the Employment Management Services Division, the administrative entity for the local Workforce Development Board, administering all of the federal and state employment programs for southwest part of Michigan.
