George has been a member of the W2O Board of Directors since April 2017 and brings 34 years of experience in building and leading high-performing global and regional advertising and digital networks. Throughout his career, George has focused on client success and growth. He is keenly interested in the intersection of media, technology,and creativity and the use of data to gain insights, drive communication, and prove ROI.
George is currently the principal of MKTG2.U, a growth and marketing consultancy. He also serves as a director on otheragency boards, including Elite SEM and Bounteous. From 2012 to 2014, George was CEO of RKG, at the time the world’s largest independent search agency, which doubled in size and quadrupled profits under his leadership. After he negotiated RKG’s saleto Merkle, Inc.,in 2014, George became Merkle’s CMO, Global EVP, anda member of the Executive Committee. Under George’s leadership, Merkle’s marketing team tripled their leads, launched a social advocacy program, and won 16 American Business Awards.
Prior to RKG, George spent 27 years at Havas/Euro RSCG, ultimately serving as Global Chairman of Havas Digital from 2006 to 2012;before that he was Global CEO of Havas Digital, a network he led from 1997 formed from more than 50 distinct marketing services agencies, ranked by Adweek as the largest global digital network five years in a row.George spent the previous seven years leading the global advertising and digital and marketing services of Intel.And he has additional client experience with IBM, Dell, Hershey’s, Volvo, Jaguar, and many others.
An accomplished industry speaker, thought leader, and innovator, George has been a presenter at the Cannes International Advertising Festival, has chaired the Cannes Cyber Lions Jury, has sat on many other international advertising festival juries, and has spoken at conferences in 19 countries.
