Abbas Sadat

Abbas Sadat has a diverse work experience in the field of autonomous driving and research. Abbas is currently working at Waabi as a Staff Researcher and Tech Lead Manager since June 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Uber Advanced Technologies Group as a Senior Research Scientist from April 2019 to February 2021. Abbas also held the positions of Senior Autonomy Engineer and Autonomy Engineer at Uber for various durations.

Before joining Uber, Abbas worked at Bosch North America as an Autonomous Driving Research Engineer from September 2016 to October 2017. Prior to that, they served as a Research Assistant at Simon Fraser University from May 2012 to August 2016.

Abbas also gained industry experience as an Autonomous Driving Research Intern at Bosch North America from September 2015 to December 2015. Furthermore, they worked as a Game AI Developer Intern at Koolhaus from September 2011 to May 2012. Their earliest work experience was as a Software Developer at Image Virtual World Ltd. from 2006 to 2008.

Abbas Sadat completed their education in a chronological order, starting in 2004 and ending in 2016. Abbas obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering from Iran University of Science and Technology between 2004 and 2008. Subsequently, between 2008 and 2011, Abbas pursued a Master of Science degree in Computing Science at Simon Fraser University. Finally, they completed their academic journey with a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Computing Science from Simon Fraser University, which they achieved between 2011 and 2016.
