Nathan Chau

Nathan Chau has a diverse work experience, starting with their current position at Waabi as a Team Lead Manager, which they have held since July 2022. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Waabi from August 2021 to July 2022. Before joining Waabi, Nathan worked at Kindred AI, where they held multiple roles. Nathan served as a Senior Software Developer from May 2020 to July 2021, providing technical leadership for the cloud platform and edge layer of the robot platform. Nathan also managed projects, mentored team members, and proposed product-level initiatives. Prior to that, they were a Software Engineer at Kindred AI from January 2017 to May 2020, where they led the design and implementation of internal tools used by engineering and operations teams. Nathan introduced modern web stack technologies and championed frontend best practices. Before Kindred AI, Nathan co-founded Freehand in 2016, where they designed and built a custom 5DOF robotic arm and developed a VR app using Unity, Leap Motion, and Oculus Rift. The app allowed users to interact with basic objects in virtual reality. Nathan's earlier experience includes working as an Entrepreneur at The Next 36 in 2014.

Nathan Chau obtained their Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) degree in Engineering Science - Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Toronto, where they attended from 2011 to 2015.
