Mihir Kulkarni has a diverse work experience in the field of AI and data science. Mihir first worked as an Associate ML Scientist I at Wadhwani AI, where they focused on applying AI and data science solutions to healthcare problems. Mihir then took on the role of Associate ML Scientist II and Team Lead, leading multiple projects in healthcare and actively engaging with stakeholders. During this time, they also authored a best paper at ML4Health for the TB adherence project. Prior to their work at Wadhwani AI, Mihir worked as a Software Engineer Intern at Google. Mihir also has experience as a Chief Editor at Insight, IIT Bombay, where they received the Institute Organizational Colour award. Additionally, Mihir has interned as a Research Intern at Adobe, where they developed a statistical model and successfully filed a patent. Mihir also interned as a Research Intern at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where they worked in the Space Science and Engineering Center.
Mihir Kulkarni completed their Bachelor of Technology degree in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. Mihir then pursued a Dual Degree in Computer Science, consisting of both M.Tech and B.Tech, from the same institution. Later, Mihir went on to earn a Master of Arts in Computer Science from Princeton University between 2017 and 2019.

The Wadhwani Institute for Artificial Intelligence (Wadhwani AI) is an independent nonprofit institute founded by the Indian-American tech entrepreneurs Romesh and Sunil Wadhwani. We aim to harness the power of AI to find the break points that cause the world’s deepest problems — and then find innovative solutions to fix them. We specialize in AI research to address problems in public health, agriculture, education and infrastructure using tools such as Machine Learning, Data Science, Cognitive Reasoning and IoT. We are a global AI hub with ongoing collaborations with leading academic organisations, global nonprofits, think tanks and other private foundations who are interested in leveraging AI as a force for social good. We partner with government agencies, and non-governmental organizations to help identify needs and to implement and scale the solutions. Our core aims include: - Conduct ground-breaking applied AI research - Pilot solutions on-ground in collaboration with the affected communities - Deploy solutions at scale in collaboration with the social sector and civic authorities.
