Matthew Hargraves

Matthew Hargraves is the current Director of the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art. Prior to this, they were the Thaw Senior Fellow at The Morgan Library & Museum from March 2021 to June 2021. Before that, they were the Chief Curator of Art Collections and Head of Collections Information & Access at the Yale Center for British Art from September 2005 to February 2021.

Matthew Hargraves has a PhD in Theirtory of Art from the Courtauld Institute of Art at the University of London. Matthew also has an MA in Theirtory of Art from the Courtauld Institute of Art and a BA in Theirtory of Art from the University of Warwick.
