Wouter Verkerke

Wouter Verkerke is a Senior Researcher and Head of the Flavour Team at Wageningen Plant Research, where a focus on transforming pure research into a service provider for the greenhouse industry has been pivotal. Verkerke has extensive experience in hedonic and sensoric panels, utilizing predictive models for added value creation. In addition to roles at Wageningen University & Research, Verkerke served as a Business Developer for The Greenhouse Pharmacy and held a research position at the University of Amsterdam, specializing in seed anatomy and fig-anatomy interactions as part of a PhD program in Plant Science. Verkerke obtained a PhD in Plant Science from the University of Amsterdam and has been integral to innovations in the horticultural sector since 1995.
