Musa Abdul-Basser

Musa Abdul-Basser has a diverse work experience spanning multiple prestigious organizations. Musa began their career in 2002 as an Associate at Thacher Proffitt & Wood LLP, where they stayed until 2006. Following this, they joined Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle LLP as an Associate in 2008 before moving to The Datestone Group LLC in 2009. At The Datestone Group LLC, they served as the Vice President for Legal Affairs & Shariah Compliance until 2011. In the same year, Musa joined the International Islamic Liquidity Management Corporation as a Senior Vice President in the Legal & Compliance Department, where they worked until 2017. Finally, Musa currently holds the role of Chief Legal Officer and Global General Counsel at Wahed, a position they have held since January 2019, and also served as Chief Legal Officer and Chief Compliance Officer since October 2017.

Musa Abdul-Basser completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in International Relations and Affairs at Wesleyan University from 1995 to 1999. Musa later pursued further education at Georgetown University Law Center, where they obtained their Doctor of Law (J.D.) degree in International Law and Legal Studies.
