Ming X. Tan

Ming X. Tan has held various roles in the life science industry since 1994. Ming X. began their career as a Senior Member of Technical Staff at Sandia National Laboratories. In 2000, they became a Product Development Manager at Zyomyx. Ming X. then served as Director of Product Development at Eclipse Sciences from 2004 to 2007. From 2007 to 2014, they were a Product Manager at Bio-Rad Laboratories. In 2014, they founded and became CEO of Wainamics. Since 2003, they have also been a Life Science Product Development Specialist at Ming Tan Consulting, providing microfluidic based disposable cartridge product development services. Ming X.'sexpertise in microfluidic device engineering, material science and chemistry has allowed him to rapidly design and develop bio-assay based consumable cartridges for a Fortune 500 company, government labs and small companies.

Ming X. Tan obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Chemistry from UC Irvine in 1990, following three years of study from 1987. Ming X. then went on to pursue a Ph.D in Chemistry at Caltech, specializing in Semiconductor Electrochemistry under the advisement of Nathan S. Lewis, which they completed in 1994.
