Design Co-Founder at Waitroom

Margaret Grobler has been working in the design field since 2005. Margaret began their career as a Web & User Experience Designer at ChessCube, then moved on to become a Design, Web, HTML & CSS Lecturer at Friends of Design - Academy of Digital Arts. In 2007, they co-founded 42 Restaurants and designed one of the first apps in the App Store. In 2009, they co-founded Gyft, a mobile payment platform, and served as an Original Product Designer with a mobile focus. In 2012, they joined Storie, an early video-based social network, as a Design Co-Founder and designed an iOS app. In 2017, they became Lead Product Designer at Civic Technologies with a mobile focus. In 2018, they joined Step as an Original Product Designer for mobile, web, and all. In 2019, they joined Over as a Senior Product Designer for web and was the primary designer for the interface of a new product. In 2020, they became a Senior Product Designer at Piktochart and a Design Co-Founder at Waitroom.

Margaret Grobler obtained their Matriculated degree from Potchefstroom Gimnasium High School in South Africa from 1996 to 2000, with Academic Distinctions in Maths, English, Afrikaans, Biology, Art, Music and Music Performance. Margaret then went on to receive their Bachelors in Graphic Design (Honors) from North-West University / Noordwes-Universiteit from 2001 to 2004, with Academic Distinctions in Graphic Design, Illustration, Art Theirtory, and Documentary Video Production. In 2008, they obtained their Adobe Certified Instructor in Photoshop certification from Adobe. Additionally, in 2000, they obtained their UNISA Grade 8 in Music (Piano) certification from University of South Africa (UNISA).
