Art Direction Lead at Waitrose & Partners

James Davies has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of art direction and design. James started their career as a Junior Designer at Wallpaper*, where they designed the magazine and collaborated on visual assets for events and campaigns. James then worked as a Designer at Time Inc. UK, where they played a leading role in the redesign of Marie Claire magazine and supported the creative visions of various brands. After that, they joined Saatchi & Saatchi London as a Mid-weight Designer, working on brand campaigns for Toyota and collaborating with Leo Burnett on briefs for McDonald's and drink brands. James then became the Deputy Art Director of InStyle, where they directed cover shoots, designed editorial features, and supported the production team. Subsequently, they became the Lead Art Editor at Harrods, responsible for delivering outstanding visual content across platforms and managing a team of designers and freelancers. Currently, James works at Waitrose & Partners as the Art Direction Lead, setting the creative strategic vision across various platforms and managing the Image & Art Direction function. James provides art and creative direction to other teams and agencies.

James Davies has a Higher National Diploma in Graphic Communications from the Wigan School For The Arts. James also has a Graphic Design BA (Hons) degree in Design & Art Direction from The Manchester Metropolitan University.
