Jacob Penner

Jacob Penner joined Waiward in 2016 and recently accepted his role as Corporate Development Manager. Jacob works with new and existing customers to ensure that Waiward is well represented while coordinating with the internal stakeholders to develop strategies to grow the business. Jacob understands Waiward’s operational capabilities, enabling him to represent the organization for Fabrication and Construction services.

Initially starting as an apprentice to later earning his journeyman welding certificate, Jacob spent six years working at several shops, module assembly yards, and sites. Jacob has gained experience in heavy industrial construction throughout his career, specializing in maintenance and shutdown management. He has 15 years of exposure in construction throughout Alberta, ranging from hands-on work to planning, coordinating, and managing projects and maintenance activities.

Jacob holds a Red Seal Welding Certificate, a Bachelor’s Degree in physical education and sports performance from the University of Alberta, and a Graduate Diploma in Management through Athabasca University.
