Associate Provost For Strategic Initiatives at Wake Forest University

Matthew Phillips serves as the Associate Provost for Strategic Initiatives at Wake Forest University, focusing on enhancing academic priorities and implementing strategic plans. In addition to this role, Phillips is a Teaching Professor of Law & Ethics and an Exxon-Calloway Fellow at the School of Business, as well as having served as President of the Faculty Senate and Director of the Wake Forest Center for the Study of Capitalism. Previous positions at the School of Business include Associate Dean for MBA Programs and Assistant Dean. Phillips also has a distinguished volunteer career with the Civil Air Patrol, currently as Chief of the Legal Officer Corps, and has held various leadership roles within the Academy of Legal Studies in Business. Prior professional experience includes practicing law at Blanco Tackabery & Matamoros, P.A. Matthew Phillips holds a Juris Doctor from Wake Forest University School of Law and advanced degrees from Duke University and Wake Forest University, supplemented by military strategic education from the USAF Air War College and Air Command and Staff College.
