Launa K. Wilson

Launa K. Wilson is a seasoned nonprofit leader and philanthropy professional with two decades of documented success building thriving major gift programs and strengthening nonprofit organizations. In addition to her current role as Executive Director for the Riverside Community College District Foundation, Ms. Wilson is the owner of LW Nonprofit Solutions, a business management and philanthropy consultancy serving the nonprofit sector.

Ms. Wilson has enjoyed a productive twenty-year career in the nonprofit philanthropy sector, focusing primarily on higher education. Prior to her current roles, she served as Senior Director of Development for the UC Riverside College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences, Director of Development for the Graduate School of Education at UC Riverside, and Director of Development for the University of Nevada Las Vegas Greenspun College of Urban Affairs. She has established & nurtured numerous successful philanthropy programs, raised millions in charitable dollars, and made significant operational and programmatic improvements to enrich organizational outcomes.

Ms. Wilson is a vocal advocate for economic and social justice issues impacting the most vulnerable citizens in her community of Riverside, CA and the surrounding region. She serves as the Secretary of the Board of Directors for the Fair Housing Council of Riverside County, a nonprofit whose mission is to ensure equal housing rights for all. She also serves on the Board of Directors for the Civil Rights Institute of Inland Southern California.

Ms. Wilson spent twenty years living and working in Las Vegas, NV before returning to her home state of California in 2011 and settling in Riverside with her husband Chad and their four dogs. She is an alumna of the University of Nevada Las Vegas, having earned a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work in 2003 and a Master’s in Social Work with a concentration in management & community practice in 2004.
