Paula Sumner-Walker

Paula Sumner-Walker, MBA, MS, currently serves as an Executive Student Success Advisor at Walden University, providing guidance to over 600 nurse practitioner and post-master's certificate students in their academic pursuits. Paula has achieved multiple accolades, including the Director Choice Award in 2025 and the Mover & Shaker Award in 2024, alongside nominations for the Pillar of Excellence Award in 2024 and 2025. Previous roles include managing provider services at Avesis, teaching high school science, and overseeing risk adjustment and provider services at UnitedHealthcare. Paula holds a Master's degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from Walden University, alongside other advanced degrees from the University of Phoenix and Brigham Young University. Currently, Paula is furthering education at Harvard University.
