Herman Valentin is an experienced community development officer with a significant background in youth services and education. Currently serving at Wales & West Housing since February 2003, Herman has been engaged in various projects across Cardiff, Caerphilly, and the Vale of Glamorgan. Prior experience includes over 12 years with Cardiff County Council as an assistant community education officer and as part of the street-based youth team, covering diverse areas of the city. Herman's earlier career includes teaching English as a Second Language at a secondary school in Seychelles from 1998 to 2002. Academic credentials comprise a Bachelor’s degree in Modern English Studies with a focus on Linguistics from Cardiff University and A Levels in English Language and Literature, Geography, and History from Seychelles Polytechnic School of Humanities & Sciences.
