John Rice

John Rice has been a member of the Board since July 2010 and serves on the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee (Chairman) and the Compensation Committee. Mr. Rice served as their Lead Director from September 2010 to June 2012. Mr. Rice is the chief executive officer of Management Leadership for Tomorrow (“MLT”), a national non-profit organization that he founded in 2001. MLT equips under-represented minorities with the skills, coaching and relationships that unlock their potential as senior business and community leaders. Prior to MLT, Mr. Rice was an executive with the National Basketball Association from 1996 to 2000, where he served as managing director of NBA Japan and as director of marketing for Latin America.

Before joining the National Basketball Association, Mr. Rice spent four years with the Walt Disney Company in new business development and marketing, and two years with AT&T. Mr. Rice is a member of the board of directors of Opendoor Technologies Inc., a publicly traded digital platform for residential real estate, where he serves as a member of the nominating and corporate governance committee. He also is a member of the board of directors of Alpha Partners Technology Merger Corp., a publicly traded blank check company where he is a member of the audit, nominating, and compensation committees. Mr. Rice also serves on the board of directors of Morgan Stanley Real Estate’s Prime Property Fund, a private fund.

Mr. Rice is a member of the Yale University board of trustees and serves on the boards of several non-profits, including the Institute for Citizens and Scholars and New Profit. Mr. Rice received his Bachelor of Arts from Yale University and his Master’s in Business Administration from Harvard University.
