Matthew Helm

Matthew Helm has over 24 years of experience in various leadership positions related to information technology, including their current position as Vice President of Information Technology at Wall Family Enterprise, Inc. Before this, they served as Chief Executive Officer at Boneyard Creek Heritage, Inc. from 2019 to 2023. Prior to that, they were the Assistant Vice President for Enterprise Architecture and Chief Data Officer at Louisiana State University from 2017 to 2019. From 2009 to 2017, Helm was the Associate Vice President of Administrative Technologies and Chief Technology Officer at Illinois State University. Before that, they worked at the University of Illinois System from 1995 to 2009 in various positions related to human resource information systems and front-end project management. Additionally, they have prior experience as Co-Owner/Chief Information Officer of FamilyToolbox.net, Inc. and Director, Online Editorial Content at Ancestry. Matthew'searly career included serving in the Illinois and Maryland Army National Guard and the United States Army Reserves from 1986 to 1999, and working as a research assistant at the U.S. Army Construction Engineering Research Laboratory in 1994.

Matthew Helm earned an A.B. in Liberal Arts and Sciences with a major in History from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 1990, followed by an M.S. in Library and Information Science from the same institution in 1995. Matthew also obtained several certifications in Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) version 3 and 4, including Intermediate levels in Continual Service Improvement, Service Strategy, Service Design, Service Transition, and Service Operation, as well as Managing Across the Lifecycle and Foundation. Additionally, they obtained both Foundation and Certified levels of The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) version 9.
