Joseph Lorenzo

Joseph Lorenzo has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Joseph is currently working as a Front End Engineer at Walla since September 2021. Prior to this, they worked as a Systems Engineer at Location Labs by Avast from November 2020 to September 2021. Joseph also held the role of Front-end Developer at United Naturals from December 2019 to January 2021 and Frontend Engineer at Noel Beauty from August 2019 to December 2019.

Before transitioning into the tech industry, Joseph attended the Flatiron School, where they completed an intensive software engineering bootcamp in NYC. During this time, they gained skills in fullstack development, including Ruby, Ruby on Rails, Javascript, and React. Joseph implemented these languages in various projects throughout their four-month duration at the school.

Prior to their career in tech, Joseph worked in other fields. Joseph served as an Inventory Manager at Pollack Associates from April 2017 to November 2018, where they oversaw the flow of fabrics in the warehouse and ensured quality assurance. Joseph also worked as an Assistant General Manager at Brushstroke Restaurant from February 2016 to September 2016, where they played a role in creating a new environment for a one Michelin star kaiseki restaurant while maintaining the expectations of a two Michelin star sushi bar. Joseph was involved in policy creation, customer relations, and reservations management.

Joseph's earlier roles include Showroom Manager at Core Home from November 2013 to June 2014, where they worked on visuals and collaborated with the design team, and Warehouse Manager at Skutchi Designs from May 2013 to September 2013, where they focused on organization and logistics. Additionally, they gained experience as a Team Manager at Student Painters from May 2012 to September 2012, where they assisted with job placement, financial analysis, and sales management.

Joseph Lorenzo began their education at Saint James High School, where they studied Physics from 2007 to 2011. In 2016, they earned a full stack web development certification from freeCodeCamp after completing their program from 2016 to 2017. Joseph then pursued further education in Computer Science at Borough of Manhattan Community College starting in 2017, while also obtaining additional certifications. In 2019, Joseph attended the Flatiron School to focus on Computer Software Engineering. Additionally, they completed "The complete Node.js Developer Course" certification offered by Udemy in June 2019.
