Front End Engineer at CoPilot

Piero Pretto has a long and varied career in web development. Piero began their career in 2016 as a JavaScript Assistant Instructor at Austin Coding Academy, where they guided students through 10 web projects and tutored them off-site. That same year, they also worked as a Web Accessibility Developer at Chemeketa Community College, developing and testing web projects to ensure Section 508 ADA compliance. In 2017, they moved to Dell Technologies as a Frontend Developer, where they built internal software tools with Meteor full-stack JavaScript library, developed multilingual web applications, and implemented 96% of the team's data visualization projects using D3. In 2019, they joined Amply Media as a Front End Engineer, where they built internal tools with Angular 7 and Phalcon PHP framework, constructed WordPress Gutenberg blocks with React, and maintained in-house tools to utilize Facebook's Messenger Platform Send API. In 2021, they became Frontend Lead at Onja, providing technical training on best practices for web performance, testing, accessibility and responsive design, and guiding developers on-site through the technical aspects of their work and coaching them on business communication. Currently, they are a Front End Engineer at CoPilot, using React, Redux and Hugo to build B2C web applications, leading code review meetings for engineering team, and improving web application performance with Webpack 5, next-gen media formats and lazy-loaded components.
