Thomas Cheung

Thomas Cheung is an accomplished data science professional with extensive experience in the field. Currently serving as Associate Director of Data Science at Walmart since November 2022, Thomas previously held the role of Principal Data Scientist and Team Lead at Whole Foods Market from June 2020 to November 2022. Prior to that, Thomas worked at Chewy as a Data Scientist II and contributed to research as a Research Assistant at Purdue University, where neuron models for Parkinson’s disease were developed. Additional experience includes a summer internship at Roche focused on building predictive models for blood glucose time series. Thomas has also held academic positions, such as Lecturer I at Hong Kong Baptist University and Instructor at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Educational credentials include a PhD in Statistics from Purdue University, an MPhil in Mathematics, and a BS in Mathematics from The University of Hong Kong.
