Derek Szeto

Derek Szeto has a wealth of experience in the business world. In 2000, they founded RedFlagDeals.com and grew it to Canada's largest bargain shopping community with over 2.5 million monthly unique visitors and 12 million posts. In 2010, they became the GM of Deals, Coupons, and Shopping for Yellow Pages Group / Groupe Pages Jaunes – Canada. From 2012-2014, they were an Entrepreneur in Residence at Kinetic Café, Founder of 2341015 Ontario Ltd., and Co-Founder and CEO of Wirkn. In 2015, they became an Advisor and Founding Investor for Loyalty Markets. From 2017-2019, they were a Sr. Director for RBC and RBC Ventures, where they co-led a collaboration to launch RBC PayPlan and instigated the effort to launch RBC's first end-to-end fully digital lending solution available to non-RBC customers. In 2018, they Co-Founded Butter (Subscriptions Hub) and built web and mobile apps to track, manage, and discover subscriptions, as well as offering 1% cashback on consumer subscriptions tracked via account aggregation and card-linking. In 2019, they became a Board Member for Genoa Labs @ RBC Insurance. Currently, they are a Co-Founder at Walnut Insurance.

Derek Szeto attended Queen's University from 2001 to 2005, where they obtained a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) in Business/Commerce, General.
