Andreas Umland

Andreas Umland serves as an Analyst at the Stockholm Centre for Eastern European Studies (SCEEUS) since April 2021. Umland holds multiple advisory roles, including membership on the Wissenschaftlichen Beirat des Zentrums Mittleres und Östliches Europa at Technische Universität Dresden, the Advisory Council for the Black Sea Program at the Middle East Institute, and the Advisory Board of the University of Tartu Ukraine Centre. Umland is a board member of the Deutsch-Ukrainisches Forum e.V. and has been involved with the editorial boards of World Affairs and Fascism: Journal of Comparative Fascist Studies. In 2020, Umland co-founded the Centre for Democratic Integrity and has been a collector for the book series "Ukrainian Voices" since 2019. Umland's academic qualifications include a Ph.D. in Politics from the University of Cambridge and degrees in History and Political Science from Freie Universität Berlin and Stanford University, among others.
