Senior Principal, Infrastructure at Walter P Moore

An award-winning engineer and Principal at Walter P Moore, Dan is the Managing Director of Civil Engineering in Kansas City. He leads the efforts of the Civil Group by managing staff, coordinating design efforts, maintaining schedule and quality control, and ensuring an extraordinary client experience on every project.

Since joining the firm in 2001, he has successfully managed diversely talented project teams and engineered many key design solutions. His expertise covers both private development and public works projects, including roadways, sanitary sewer collection systems, water distribution networks, and urban drainage solutions. Dan advocates sustainable, low-impact design solutions that enhance quality of life for communities and the environment.

Dan is passionate about community improvement, especially regarding infrastructure. He's been very active in the American Public Works Association (APWA), having served numerous leadership roles including President (currently) and Vice President of the KC Metro Chapter's Executive Committee, as well as serving on various other committees. Dan is also very involved in philanthropic activities with organizations such as Big Brothers and Big Sisters and the United Methodist Church of the Resurrection. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Missouri-Columbia and is a licensed professional engineer in Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, and Iowa.
