Edwin Friedrichs

Managing Principal, Infrastructure at Walter P Moore

Since joining Walter P Moore in 1977, Edwin has spent much of his career serving the community at the local, state, and national levels, and has developed a diverse portfolio of master planning, transportation planning, site development, and civil, traffic, and transportation engineering projects. He is also a passionate educator, mentoring multiple generations of leaders at Walter P Moore.

As a Managing Principal, Edwin serves as a role model to others pursuing community involvement, both professionally and personally. His experience also includes regional mobility planning, Capital Improvement Plan preparation, funding options, and public hearings and presentations. Edwin also remains active in the transportation community, serving the Greater Houston Partnership on the Transit Planning and Highways & Tollroads Committees, and is a founding member of the I-69 Coalition.

Edwin supports the community through broad service to non-profit, community-based and professional organizations including American Council of Engineering Companies, National Society of Professional Engineers, American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), and Urban Land Institute. He has been recognized as an industry leader receiving numerous awards including the Houston Area Engineer of the Year in 2009 and the ASCE Service to People Award, and was recognized as a Distinguished Graduate of the Zachry Department of Civil Engineering of Texas A&M University in 2011. Edwin has a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University and is a licensed professional engineer in Texas as well as a professional transportation planner.
