Sheila Way

Sheila Way has a diverse work experience in the field of Human Resources and Learning & Development. Sheila is currently the Chief Human Resources Officer at WAMU 88.5 since August 2023. Prior to this, they worked as the Human Resources Director at American University from October 2018 to August 2023. Sheila also has experience at Capital One, where they led onboarding and talent programs for associates and served as part of the curriculum design team. Before that, they held various roles at American University, including Senior Director of Learning & Development, Director of Learning and Development, Senior Manager of Learning & Performance, and Manager of Workplace Learning & Development. Sheila started their career as the Assistant Director of Professional Development at Catholic Charities of Washington DC from 2002 to 2008.

Sheila Way completed their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in History at Providence College. Sheila then pursued a Master of Education (M Ed.) degree in Education at Lesley University. In 2020, they attended American University Professional Studies and obtained a certification in Leadership Coaching for Organizational Performance. Additionally, they obtained several other certifications, including the Associate Certified Coach (ACC) from the International Coaching Federation, the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR®) Certification from the HR Certification Institute - HRCI, the Project Management Professional certification from the Project Management Institute, the DDI Certified Facilitator certification from Development Dimensions International, and the MBTI Certified Facilitator certification from CPP, Inc.
