Jaylyn Cook

Jaylyn Cook is an experienced journalism professional with a diverse background in various media roles. Currently serving as the Assistant News Director and Assignment Editor at WAND-TV since June 2019, Jaylyn has previously worked as a Weekend Writer/Editor for G/O Media, where responsibilities included pitching, writing, and editing news stories for The Root. Earlier experience includes a Staff Writer position at Herald & Review, covering breaking news and city government, as well as reporting as an intern at Journal Star. Additional roles include social media content creation at 91.5 WCIC FM and editorial responsibilities at Bradley Scout as a Voice Editor. Jaylyn holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications - Journalism from Bradley University and began an educational journey at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.
