Fazal Merchant

Fazal Merchant is a seasoned executive with extensive experience in the media and entertainment sectors. Currently serving as a Board Member at Warner Bros. Discovery, Ariel Investments, Ryman Hospitality Properties, and Sixth Street, Fazal has previously held significant roles, including Senior Advisor at Sixth Street and Board Member at Meritor and Tanium. As Co-Chief Executive Officer, COO, and CFO at Tanium, Fazal played a crucial role in the company’s operations until 2022. Prior to this, Fazal served as Chief Financial Officer at DreamWorks Animation during its successful sale to Comcast, and at DIRECTV Latin America and DIRECTV, driving notable transactions with AT&T. Educational qualifications include an MBA in Business and Operations Management from Indiana University Southeast and a degree from The University of Texas at Austin.
