Nicholas M. Colvin

Nick Colvin serves as the Associate General Counsel for Real Estate and Impact Investing at Habitat for Humanity International since March 2024. Previous legal experience includes roles as Attorney at Applegate & Thorne-Thomsen, P.C., Senior Counsel at Warner Norcross + Judd, and Associate at Miller Canfield. Notable positions also include COVID-19 Special Counsel for the Executive Office of Governor Gretchen Whitmer and Democratic Candidate for Michigan’s Third Congressional District in 2020. Colvin has served as General Counsel and Assistant City Treasurer for the City of Chicago and worked as Counsel at Carpenter, Lipps & Leland LLP. Early career experience includes an Associate position at Perkins Coie LLP and serving as Special Assistant to the White House Counsel during the Obama administration. Colvin holds a Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School and a B.A. in Political Science and African American Studies from the University of Michigan.
