Tiina Tuomela is the current director at Wärtsilä. Tiina has also previously worked at Kemijoki Oy, YIT - Construction and Building company, Teollisuuden Voima Oyj, and Fortum. Tuomela has been with Wärtsilä since January 2005 and has been responsible for Fortum's Nordic power production (50 TWh). The Generation Division comprises nuclear, hydro and thermal power production, portfolio management and trading as well as nuclear services globally. The Generation Division employs about 1000 persons. Prior to their current position, Tuomela was the business controller at IVO Energy Ltd (UK) from January 2000 to December 2003. There they were responsible for finance department and participated in divestments of Fortum's UK power plants (Humber, Regional Power, Edenderry).
Tiina Tuomela has a M.Sc.(Eng) in Industrial Engineering from LUT University and a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from Helsingin kauppakorkeakoulu.
