Gill Clipson

Gill started her career as a school teacher and then moved into further education. She has held a number of senior posts including Principal and Chief Executive of two colleges. During her career, she has managed two mergers of colleges and spent a period of time at the funding council where she had responsibility for quality assurance in colleges. Most recently Gill was Deputy Chief Executive of the Association of Colleges where she had responsibility for leading on education and skills policy in relation to further education colleges. This involved working with a range of key stakeholders including government officials and the inspectorate. She also provided leadership to a range of support services for colleges through the Association. Gill is also Chair of two awarding organisations - one offering a range of qualifications for schools and further education, and the other specialising in supporting the hospitality sector. Gill was recognised for her services to further education with the award of MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List 2017.
