Washington and Lee University
Ben McClure is currently a Summer Research Intern at Washington and Lee University, where the focus is on utilizing machine learning and satellite data to analyze land cover changes in hurricane-exposed areas. Ben co-founded the W&L Blockchain Society and serves as Chief of Technical Research. Previously, Ben worked as an Astrophysics Researcher at Washington and Lee University, utilizing photometric techniques to estimate distances to RY Octans, a type of RR Lyrae star. Ben is pursuing dual Bachelor's degrees in Economics and Physics at Washington and Lee University, expected to graduate in 2024.
