Joshua Berger

Founder, President & CEO at Washington Maritime Blue

Joshua Berger is the Founder, President, and CEO of Washington Maritime Blue. Prior to this, they served as Governor Inslee's Maritime Sector Lead at the Washington State Department of Commerce from November 2015 to March 2021. In this role, Joshua worked with stakeholders to create coalitions like the Washington Maritime Federation to promote improvements in transportation infrastructure, regulatory balance, workforce education and training, and clean technology.

From November 2014 to November 2015, Joshua served as WA Maritime Federation Coordinator at the Economic Development Council of Seattle and King County. In this role, they helped coordinate the efforts of the WA Maritime Federation to promote maritime activity in the state of Washington.

Prior to their work in maritime advocacy, Joshua was an Organizer at the South Puget Sound and Community Health Initiative from August 2007 to August 2008. In this role, they worked with community members to promote health and wellness initiatives in the Puget Sound area.

Joshua Berger has a BA in Alternative Education from The Evergreen State College and an MA in Environment and Community from Antioch University Seattle. Joshua Berger is also certified from the U.S. Coast Guard in USCG Master's License.
