Catherine Vanderwaart has extensive experience in transportation and strategic planning, currently serving as the Director of Ridership and Mobility Analysis at the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority since February 2016. Prior roles at WMATA include Strategic Planning Advisor, Senior Transportation Economist, and Transportation Economist/Analyst. Catherine's earlier experience includes a Research Assistant/Intern position at MBTA, a Membership and Outreach Associate role at the National Complete Streets Coalition, and a Program Analyst position at the American Leadership Forum - Silicon Valley. Catherine began a career in finance as a Financial Analyst at Janney Montgomery Scott. Academically, Catherine holds a Master of City Planning and a Master of Science in Transportation from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a BA in Mathematics from Swarthmore College.
