Michael Guss

Michael Guss is a seasoned attorney with extensive experience in labor and employment law, currently serving as Senior Counsel at the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) since May 2005. In this role, Michael leads WMATA’s labor and employment cases and serves as chief counsel in significant business and subrogation litigation. Previously, as Associate General Counsel for Special Litigation & Appeals at WMATA, Michael specialized in tort defense and employment litigation. Prior positions include Associate at Phyllis J. Outlaw & Associates, where Michael handled general litigation and family law, Assistant General Counsel at Group 1 Software focusing on corporate governance, Special Assistant State's Attorney in Montgomery County, and a Teacher of American Government at Edison Schools. Michael holds a JD from the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School and a BA in Legal Communication from Howard University.
