Silas J Fielder

Silas J Fielder has a range of work experience in various roles and industries. Silas J is currently serving as the Director of Operating Practices at the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) since September 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Amtrak from 2009 to 2021, where they held multiple positions such as Manager of System Safety Programs, MARC Penn Line Safety Lead, Lead Technical Trainer, Train Dispatcher, and Customer Service Representative. Additionally, Silas founded Dark Horse Steel, LLC in 2005 and managed a workforce of 12-18 prefabricated steel ironworkers until 2010, completing projects along the east coast. Before that, they worked as a Locomotive Electrician/Hostler at Norfolk Southern Corporation from 2007 to 2009.

Silas J Fielder has a comprehensive education history. Silas J obtained their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business Analytics from Wilmington University between 2022 and 2024. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Government & Public Policy from the same institution from 2019 to 2021. Additionally, Silas obtained an Associate of Science (AS) degree in Business/Commerce, General and an Associate of Arts and Sciences (AAS) degree in Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services from Delaware Technical Community College between 2016 and 2019.

In terms of certifications, Silas has completed numerous programs. These include the Public Transportation Safety Certification Training Program - Rail from the Federal Transit Administration in 2021, as well as various courses from FEMA, U.S. Department of Transportation, LinkedIn, and other institutions. Silas J has also received certifications in areas such as transit rail incident investigation, transit rail system safety, principles of SMS (Safety Management System), Excel 2016, Visio 2016, and passenger conductor training.
