Ryan Heil began their work experience in 2009 as an Assistant Coach for Corvallis Knights Baseball. Ryan then worked as a Recruiting Coordinator, Assistant Coach, and Adjunct Professor at Riverside Community College from 2009 to 2010. In 2010, they served as a Pitching Coach for Chatham Anglers. From 2010 to 2014, they worked at Clemson University Athletic Department as an Employee, where they played a role in creating the planned giving program and cultivated relationships with major donors. Ryan then joined Clemson University in 2012, first as a Graduate Assistant, where they assessed marketing strategies and developed new recruitment strategies. Ryan later became the Graduate Student Body President and served as the Chief of Staff for the Vice President for Student Affairs, where they assisted in development efforts and helped improve communication strategies. In 2015, they worked as a Digital Marketing Consultant and supported marketing and branding efforts at Clemson Online. That same year, they became the Chief Marketing Officer at Zipbuds, LLC, where they led the company's rebranding and coordinated a successful crowdfunding project. In 2018, they became the Executive Director of the Center for Innovative Leadership, where they conducted organizational culture assessments and led change initiatives. In the same year, they also started working at the Washington Speakers Bureau as the Chief People & Culture Officer. In 2020, they became the Chief Operating Officer of Washington Speakers Bureau, and in 2022, they were promoted to the position of President.

Ryan Heil has a diverse education history. Ryan completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree at Clemson University from 2012 to 2018, with a research focus on organizational culture, organizational leadership, and college athletics. Prior to that, from 2010 to 2012, they pursued a Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree in clinical counseling at Clemson University. In 2003-2004, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in psychology from Lewis-Clark State College. Ryan also attended San Diego State University in 2002-2003 where they studied psychology, and earned an Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies at Citrus College in 2001-2002. Ryan'seducation journey began in 2000-2001 at Saint Mary's College of California, where they focused on psychology.
