Washington Square News
Nicole Ranile is a dedicated student athlete and writer currently attending New York University, where Nicole serves as the captain of the NYU Swim team and has earned accolades such as being a CSCAA All-American and securing a top-3 finish at NCAAs. In addition to athletic commitments, Nicole is a staff writer for Washington Square News, focusing on NYU Athletics and broader sports narratives. Previous experience includes interning with Broadcast Music, Inc. on the Deferred Royalties Project, contributing to the growth of SIDELINE's social media presence, and writing for Periphery Magazine. Nicole also gained experience in fashion public relations and volunteer teaching at St. Stanislaus Parish. Nicole is pursuing a degree from New York University, expected to graduate in May 2026, and is a graduate of Germantown Academy.

Washington Square News is an independent student newspaper of New York University that covers categories such as news, features, arts, sports, opinion, multimedia, and much more. It is published Monday through Thursday during New York University’s academic year, except during university holidays, vacations, and exam periods.The newspaper isdistributed to more than 100 locations in Manhattan and reaches about 60,000 students, faculty, staff members, and residents of its community.
