Abigail Berube Mph

Abigail Berube, MPH, CPHQ has a diverse work experience in the healthcare industry. Starting in 2008, they worked at the University of Chicago Medical Center as a Project Manager/Quality Improvement Specialist. During this time, they successfully implemented a $2M Merck grant aimed at reducing disparities in diabetes. Abigail oversaw the development of patient education classes, provider cultural competency training, and clinical redesign using quality improvement methods. Through these efforts, there were notable improvements in diabetes self-management and provider cultural competency.

In 2012, Abigail joined the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association, where they held various roles. Abigail started as a Senior Consultant in the Office of Clinical Affairs, then became the Director of Community Health Management, and eventually became the Managing Director of Strategic Execution. During their time with the association, they established the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Institute, focusing on addressing social and environmental determinants of health. Abigail played a key role in ensuring compliance and reporting for the benefit corporation and worked towards achieving community benefits through innovative solutions.

In 2018, Abigail joined the Washington State Hospital Association as the Assistant Director of Safety and Quality. In 2020, they were promoted to the role of Director, Health Equity. Further details about their current responsibilities are not provided.

Abigail Berube, MPH, CPHQ, received their Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology/Art from Ithaca College in 2006. In 2008, they obtained their Master of Public Health degree in Epidemiology from The George Washington University. Continuing their education, Abigail pursued a Graduate Certificate in Change Management from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management, which they completed between 2015 and 2017.

In terms of certifications, Abigail became a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) through the National Association for Healthcare Quality in March 2020. Abigail also holds the designation of Professional, Academy for Healthcare Management (PAHM) from America's Health Insurance Plans (AHIP), obtained in 2013. Additionally, Abigail completed the Primary Care Practice Coach Professional Development Program through IHI in 2011, further enhancing their expertise in the healthcare field.
