Claire Richards, PhD, RN, currently serves as an Assistant Professor at Washington State University Spokane since July 2020, focusing on research related to energy justice and health. Prior to this role, Claire was a Research Affiliate with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs from July 2020 to July 2023 and an Affiliate Instructor at the University of Washington School of Nursing from August 2019 to August 2021, contributing to the Global Consortium on Climate and Health Education. Claire's previous experience includes a joint position as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the VA Puget Sound Healthcare System and the University of Washington School of Public Health, where responsibilities involved research, grant applications, and mentorship. Claire completed a Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing Science at the University of Washington from 2013 to 2017, focusing on patient and family-centered care in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, and also has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Duke University and a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley.
