Jon T. Rymer

Inspector General at Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission

Jon leads the Office of the Inspector General (OIG), whose mission is to help WSSC Water be fiscally transparent, sustainable, and ethically responsible. The office conducts independent audits, evaluations, and investigations; makes evidence-based recommendations to promote economy, efficiency, and effectiveness; and prevents and detects fraud, waste, abuse, mismanagement, and misconduct within WSSC Water.

Jon previously worked as an auditor in both the private sector and the government. He served as a federal inspector general for more than nine years in the Obama and [George W.] Bush administrations and as the inspector general at the Department of Defense, Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and Securities and Exchange Commission.

A graduate of the University of Tennessee with a bachelor’s degree in Economics, Jon earned his MBA from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. He is a certified Internal Auditor, Government Auditing Professional, and Defense Financial Manager.
