Kristina Minear

Director, Partnerships at WTIA

Kristina Minear has been working in the non-profit sector for over 10 years. Kristina started their career at Bloodworks Northwest (formerly Puget Sound Blood Center) in 2007 as the Corporate Relations Manager. In this role, they formalized a corporate giving program that included sponsorships, grants, and direct mail. Kristina built relationships with 120 companies and corporate foundations and recruited 25 new donors.

In 2009, they were promoted to Corporate Relations and Individual Giving Manager. In this role, they secured $300,000 in corporate contributions through sponsorships and grants. Kristina also increased revenue from individual donors by developing personalized solicitation strategies. Additionally, they overhauled the organization's database usage and created SOPs and reports to increase efficiency and accountability.

In 2010, they served as the Interim Development Director. In this role, they ran the Development Department, including hiring personnel, managing budgets, and negotiating contracts. Kristina also developed a comprehensive fundraising strategy, including events, major gifts, corporate giving, etc. Additionally, they established a junior board to attract millennial donors.

After their interim role, they returned to their previous position of Corporate and Individual Major Gifts Officer. In this role, they oversaw the corporate giving program and raised $500,000+ per year from sponsorships and grants. Kristina also managed 18-member junior board and facilitated its annual strategic planning meetings and events. Additionally, they wrote grants and proposals for corporate and for individual major gift prospects.

In 2014, they were promoted to Individual Giving Manager. In this role, they expanded fundraising capacity by building new staff positions, including hiring, training, and managing staff. Kristina also implemented a comprehensive fundraising program to increase revenue from major gifts, annual fund, junior board, and planned gifts from individual donors. Additionally, they established a department-wide system to track relationship management using a CRM database. Kristina also developed major donors and secured gifts up to $50,000.

In 2016, they left Bloodworks Northwest to take on the role of Director of Partnerships at WTIA. In this role, they are responsible for developing partnerships with other organizations to help WTIA achieve its mission.

Kristina Minear has a Masters in Public Administration from the Evans School of Public Policy and Governance at the University of Washington, a certificate in Fundraising Management from the University of Washington, and a BA in Womens Studies and Anthropology from Emory University.
