Amrita Bhattacharyya

Amrita Bhattacharyya is a dedicated legal professional currently serving as a Summer Associate at McGuireWoods LLP and a Staff Editor for the Washington University Law Review. Previous experience includes a Judicial Internship with the Honorable Karla Smith at the Montgomery County Circuit Court, where Amrita drafted court orders and conducted legal research. As News Editor and Interim Editor-in-Chief for The Daily Illini, Amrita led a team of reporters and managed the publication’s transition to a new format. Additional roles include a Communications Intern at Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, analyzing FOIA requests and developing social media content, as well as a Research Analyst at the Cline Center for Advanced Social Research. Amrita holds a Doctor of Law (JD) from Washington University in St. Louis and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Economics from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
